Zombie Halloween Costumes

Zombie Halloween CostumesCreating Zombie Halloween costumes is not about the clothes, it’s about the deathly attitude and the makeup! So create Zombie clothing by grabbing any old, worn out clothes that you can find and smear dirt and grass onto the clothes to give it that fresh from the grave look. Then move onto the blood and gore.

And if you just want to buy a Zombie Costume, check these out.

Create a Protruding Bone

To create a Protruding Bone fracture for your zombie costume you will need a cheap white taper candle, some latex, makeup and tissue paper.

Apply two to three layers of the latex, making sure there is a single ply tissue in between each layer, make sure the edges of the tissue are frayed so it looks less obvious about the joining to your skin.

While the latex is drying, you will want to create the bone from your candle. Snap the candle in two and pull out the wick. If the break doesn’t look right you can use a knife to splinter right. The non-protruding end will need to be shaved down until it rests flat against your skin, keep in mind the angle that it will be coming out of the skin.

Once the latex is dry you want to peel a small hole where the bone is going to protrude, peel it back just enough to fit the candle in place. Using more latex or spirit gum in the hole place the candle in the hole. Place the latex back in place on top of the candle so it looks like the bone is stretching through the skin. You can now use makeup to decorate the wound, use black and red greasepaint to make the wound look deep; you also want to make the wound appeared bruised around the outside of the latex to help hide the latex on your skin.

Tips:

  • Keep the candle in the fridge to make it easier to break.
  • Before you begin applying the latex, you will want to shave the area so that it is not painful to remove the latex.

Zombie Halloween Costumes Burst Jugular

If you want to have the appearance of a burst jugular you will need to get something that works as an artery, such as rubber tubing, you can also use macaroni or drinking straws. You’ll also need latex and makeup.

Start by applying the latex to your neck and allow it to dry.

While it is drying, decorate the tubing so it looks like your jugular. If using plastic tubing you need to prep the surface so that the paint sticks.

To make the artery you will want to cut two equal lengths of tubing, make it long enough so you have about an inch to place underneath the latex. In the section that will be under the latex, you want to cut a cross section across the tubing so that the pipe will gradually come out of your neck.

Once the latex is dry you will need to pick a small hole, just large enough for the tubing to fit through, where the tubing is going to stick through.

Next, you will need to cut a tear along the latex and pull the latex with your fingers until you can get the tubing to go in. Use spirit gum or more latex to make the tubing stay in place, push the latex back in place to cover the artery so that there is no loose skin left.

Now all you have left to do is apply the makeup. Using red and black greasepaint make the wound look deep, place bruising around the edges to conceal the edges. Using fake blood, pour some into the tubing, the cut and let it dribble down your neck. If you want to get really creative, you can use a blood-squirting device for the tubing.
