Pop Art Costume

I love color, and thus, I love pop art. This Halloween I used the works of Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol as inspiration and came up with this costume- I basically aimed to be the human embodiment of pop art.

My costume was handmade, start to finish! I made the dress out of cheap cotton-something blend, and spray painted the harsh lines and geometric patterns in block colors as typical of the style.

I modeled my hair and makeup on the famous Monroe screen prints by Warhol and painted myself completely pink. I did my hair with a blonde wig, spray painted yellow and painted in with black lines for that artificial definition. Navy contacts and red lips really contributed to my completely inhuman look.

What was really flattering was that people ACTUALLY recognized what I was trying to do!
