Paul Stanley Costume

Paul Stanley CostumeWhat could be sexier than a Paul Stanley Costume? The make-up, the hair, the talent, the outfit, The Starchild. It’s all so very, very sexy.

Keep reading to learn to make the costume yourself or just go buy an Authentic KISS Starchild Costume.

For those of you that don’t know, Paul Stanley is the charismatic front man/lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist/songwriter for hard rock super group KISS, best known for his wailing vocals, high-energy on-stage antics and appeal to female fans.

Make a Paul Stanley Costume Outfit

To get started, you’ll need a black unitard, sometimes called a catsuit. These are mostly sold at places that sell dancewear. They make them with and without sleeves so choose which one best fits the look you’re going for. If you can’t find a unitard, get matching tight black pants and black top. Paul Stanley Costume

Once you get your base, you’ll need to cut out the chest. Put on your outfit on mark where you want to cut. Remember the old rule of measure twice, cut once.

Now you’re ready add the embellishment! Hit up your local fabric or craft store to find what you need -- silver fabric, clear rhinestones, sequins, feathers, metal studs, etc and go to town!

If you don’t know how to apply any of these things, take your base outfit to the store and ask someone for help. It’ll be easier for them to help you if they know what kind of fabric you’re trying to embellish. Also ask them about how to embellish your boots. Be sure to buy all the things you’ll need to apply your embellishments (fabric glue, bedazzler, etc).

Have a plan before you start embellishing. The opening of the chest should be embellished. If you’re doing the star costume, use a template so that your stars are all the same size. Now get to it! This is the hard part and patience is key. When you’re done, you have the base of your costume!

Just a side note -- one of the reasons that Paul is so sexy is that he was always showing the women his chest! If you want the same sex appeal, you might want step up the ab & chest workout 6-8 weeks before you bare all as Paul.

Paul Stanley Costume Boots

Now for the awesome boots! No matter if you buy Starchild boots or make them yourself, people will love them!

To make boots, you'll need some black or silver platform boots. If you’re out shopping a lot of these boots come in women’s sizes. Normally the conversion is to add 2 sizes to your size to find the women’s size. However, since these are platform boots with heels, add 3 sizes. So if you normally wear a size 11, buy a women’s size 14. You can always add inserts if you need some extra padding.

Now that you have your boots, add the embellishment. You can use fabric, paint pens, or just plain paint. Remember to have a plan!

KISS Starchild Makeup

KISS Starchild Paul Stanley Costume Makeup
To do the makeup for your Paul Stanley Costume, you can simply buy the makeup or do it yourself.

Here's how to DIY:

You’ll need white clown face paint, black face paint, black eyeliner, powder brush, baby powder, red lipstick, red lip liner and a star stencil (cut one out of paper).

Cover your face in the white clown paint. Using a powder brush, lightly cover your face with baby powder – this will help the makeup stay. Line both eyes on top and bottom with black eyeliner. Then, using the star stencil, trace the outside of the star to over your right eye. Fill in the outline with the black face paint.

Next, line your lips using the red lip liner. This is important since most red lipsticks run and you don’t want it to look messy. Fill in the lip liner with the red lipstick! Now you look like the Starchild!

Paul Stanley Costume Hair

If you have black hair, great! Tease it and hairspray it to the hilt. If you don’t have the hair for this look, just get yourself a Paul Stanley Wig

Get into Starchild Character

You gotta have the right attitude to pull of a Paul Stanley Costume! Paul's persona in Kiss is "The Starchild", Don Juan-esque lover, combining effeminate elements with elements of extreme masculinity.

He likes to get the crowd to join the band in many of their classic hits and also tends to give a speech or "scripted" story for certain songs (e.g. having sexual encounters with nurses and other women he's met on tour and how much he supports U.S. troops overseas).

He is the writer or co-writer of most of the band's highest-charting hits, including "Let's Put The X In Sex","Everytime I Look At You","Love Gun","Detroit Rock City," "Rock and Roll All Nite," "Hard Luck Woman," "I Was Made for Lovin' You," "Crazy Crazy Nights," and "Forever."

Have fun in this costume and all the ladies will be after you!
