Original Halloween Costumes

Looking for original Halloween costumes? Something that only you have? Here are some ideas for you!

Idea 1 - Check out your local thrift stores. There are a ton of costume ideas there if you get creative and use your imagination.

Idea 2 - Think Small. Check out some of the smaller, more unique costume websites out there. I like these anime & cosplay costumes.

Idea 3 - Go old school (and I don’t mean the movie). Think back to things you loved as a kid. Were there any obnoxious personalities that you could dress up as? How about a classic like Lucille Ball?

Idea 4 - Read Your Newspaper. Are there any things in current events you can dress up as? I had a friend dress up as a Hurricane Katrina victim by getting really dirty, adding a ‘Miss New Orleans’ pageant sash, messing her hair up a lot, and speaking with a drawl. Tacky? Yes. Original? Definitely!

Idea 5 - Holiday Mix-Up. Think about going with costumes from a different holiday and twist it up. No one dresses up as Santa on Halloween so you could be Sant-o-Lantern. Get the idea?

Idea 6 - Look Around. What is around you that would make for an orignial costume? Have access to a lot of stuffed animals? Attach them to yourself, grab a plate of half-eaten food and walk around telling everyone you're "stuffed".

Idea 6 - Have a costume made for you. You can check with your local tailors or Moon Costumes can make you one.
