Master Chief from Halo Costume

This year I went as Master Chief from Halo. I made it out of fiberglass and Bondo. It was pretty much made by forming paper into the shapes that I want, like origami, and then cover it in fiberglass resin. And then I just sanded, and sanded, and sanded, until it was how it looks now. I started working on it in January 2009 and it took way too long. I really wanted it to look damaged, so I took real care while painting it to look damaged.

I got the idea from browsing the net, and I found a web group called the 405th at 405th.com. They are a great group of people that have all the information you need to make one of these suits of armor. They are a lot of help and they are a great community.

I chose to make the Hayabusa helmet instead of the regular one, but whenever I went out in it people thought I was either Iron Man or Optimus Prime.
