Scavenger Hunt
A Halloween Video Scavenger Hunt is an entertaining way to have your party fun documented!
What you’ll need
- Video Cameras for each team
- Video Camera hook up to your TV
- Prizes
Set Up
Have your TV wired to easily show video from video cameras.
Divide up your party into teams and give each team a video camera and a list of items with different point values to video. There is a sample list below that you can use to get started! It’s also a lot of fun it more specific to your location such as ‘go to Barney’s Barn and ask for directions to the local Haunted House’ and ‘find Joan’s car and toilet paper it’. Be creative!
Example Halloween Video Scavenger Hunt List
20 points each- Find a tombstone in a graveyard of someone with the last name ‘Smith’ that died in the 1970’s
- A cop (real or in costume) in a donut shop and get a video with him eating donuts
- Find a group of people that are wearing their costumes as a group - 10 bonus points for doing something with them related to their costumes (example: sing We’re Off to See the Wizard with a group wearing Wizard of Oz costumes)
- Find a stranger who will let you wrap them up in toilet paper like a mummy - 10 bonus points if they along with the team sings the Monster Mash on video
- Find a stranger to dance at least part of the "Thriller" dance made famous by Michael Jackson
- A stranger drinking fake blood
- Saran Wrapping a team member’s car
- Team members going through a haunted house 10 points each
- Take a video with a taxi or bus driver - 5 bonus points if you can get him to tell you a scary story
- Go to a graveyard and find a tombstone with the phrase ‘Rest in Peace’
- Go to a home of someone that no one knows and ask for a can of blood red soup (tomato soup)
- Find a stranger to sing ‘Purple People Eater’ to your team
- Go to a bar and get the DJ to give your team a shout out
- Have each team member kiss a person dressed up as a ghost
- A stranger buying a team member a Halloween-themed shot and them taking it
- Find someone in a toga costume and yell "Toga! Toga!" with them 5 points each
- Go to a video store and find out what year all the Halloween movies were made
- Go to a grocery store find out how much pumpkin seeds cost
- Team member(s) drinking pumpkin beer
- Find a stranger to tell you a corny Halloween joke
- Video a home that is decked out in Halloween decorations - 5 bonus points if you can get the owner to tell you all about it
- A group of strangers saying "trick-or-treat" to you
- Find someone in a cat costume to meow at you
Let the Halloween Video Scavenger Hunt Begin!
Send the teams out into the big, bad world for 2 hours to bring back the evidence.
Their efforts must be documented with ON VIDEO otherwise no points will be awarded.
If a team shows up late, they are disqualified.
Watch all the videos together. The team with the most points WINS!
