Halloween Food

Halloween Food for thought

Good Halloween Food is critical for a successful Spootacular Party! But no worries, it can be easy or hard to make, it all depends on how much work you want to put into it, but what makes the food stand out is the interesting names that you give it.

Something to keep in mind when preparing Halloween recipes for a party is that serving appetizers always your guests more to choose from. It also allows them to feel comfortable snacking throughout the party rather than sitting down and eating a meal.

Dragon’s Breath Dip

Ingredients
  • 2 heads of garlic, at least it has health benefits
  • 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 8 ounces of Brie Cheese
  • ½ tsp. seasoning salt
  • Dash of white pepper
Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cut off ½” of the top of the garlic and remove some of the papery skin, but you want to leave the head intact, so don’t remove too much.

Using a separate sheet of foil for each head of garlic place the garlic on a square of foil and drizzle it with olive oil.

Wrap the garlic well.

Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, you want the garlic to be soft and starting to brown.

Remove from oven and allow it to cool, you want to be able to handle it with your bare hands.

To remove the roasted cloves you will want to squeeze each head.

Place Brie cheese, seasoning salt, pepper, and garlic cloves into a food processor, mix together until creamy

Refrigerate the dip for several hours.

Freddie Kruger’s Casserole

Ingredients
  • 1 package flour tortillas, tear them into wedges
  • 1 pound hamburger meat, browned and drained, Costco Hamburger meat is great to use, very little grease needs to be drained off
  • 1 can of Ranch Style beans, you can also use plain pinto beans, use a normal sized can, not a small or large can
  • 1 medium onion, chopped, can be fine or coarse
  • 2 cups shredded cheese, Colby jack works great, so does Longhorn or plain Colby
  • 1 can of Rotel diced tomatoes with peppers, mild or hot your choice
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
Directions

Spray 2 quart casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

Line the bottom of the pan with tortilla wedges

Begin to layer the food in the following order: meat, beans, onion, and cheese.

Repeat the layer one more time, starting with the tortillas first

In separate bowl mix Rotel tomatoes and cream of mushroom soup; this is where the dish got its name.

Pour the mixture over the layers

Add some grated cheese to the top

Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil, which ever you have at home

Bake the casserole for 45 minutes to an hour, should be bubbly and hot all the way through.

There you go, great Halloween Food!!
