"Blue Steel" - A Transformer Costume

I began constructing this costume in June of 2009. The technical challenge of creating a working transformer greatly appealed to me, although it did turn out to be more difficult and expensive than I had originally planned.

It transforms from a working Ford Mustang into an Autobot, all with me inside! All of the electronics, including the LED lights and motors are run off a small 12V battery located under the hood. The wheels to turn but they have a tough time getting enough traction to push me forward, which was the original intention. Hopefully "Blue Steel 2.0" will have that upgrade. I had a great time building this costume so I hope you enjoy it!
