70s Costume Ideas

I truly believe that a great 70s Costume is for any occasion, not just Halloween. Don’t believe me? Here I am with my friends dressed up in our best 70's gear at a 70s Roller Disco Birthday Party! It was a BLAST!!!

The 70’s were a time of disco, platform boots, and bellbottoms. These are probably the most easily recognizable costumes of this era but where do you find them? 

Hit up the thrift store to find loads of classic 70’s looks. You’ll never know what you’ll find. I found my orange paisley jumpsuit complete with bell bottom legs! Ask for help since the sales team will know what is in the store that will match your requirements.

Look in your and your parent’s closet and the attic. You’ll be amazed at what you find that could be turned into a 70’s costume.

Go with a look from the movies! Princess Leia and all the Star Wars Characters super popular in the late 70’s after the first Star Wars Movie came out.  And of course, it is the decade that brought us the Halloween movie!

The 70s were also a time for great bands! Check out these Abba Costumes and Kiss Costumes. They work especially well for group Halloween costumes. Sonny & Cher make a great couple costume.

And don't forget your favorite TV shows! All in the Family, Three's Company, Charlie's Angels, Mary Tyler Moore Show, and Bob Barker started hosting The Price is Right.
